Transform Your Mornings: The ABC Method for Success
Written on
Chapter 1: Embracing the Early Rise
Every day, I rise around 6 a.m. and implement the A/B/C framework to guarantee a productive and joyful day. This practice has transformed my life over the past four years. In my earlier days, I used to sleep in until 7:30 a.m., but adopting an "hour earlier" routine has made a remarkable difference.
Let me break down the A/B/C rule for you.
Section 1.1: The “Above” Technique
The “Above” technique is useful when you find yourself fixated on specific challenges in life. Imagine you're on your way to purchase vegetables, only to realize you've forgotten your wallet at home after walking two miles. Your energy plummets, and fatigue sets in.
In such moments, remind yourself that you are “above” the situation. Affirm to yourself, “I can rise above this fatigue. I will return home, retrieve my wallet, and get those veggies waiting for me.” By repeating this affirmation, you train your mind to overcome obstacles, rejuvenating your spirit and determination.
This strategy can be applied to any situation filled with fear or doubt. By reframing your mindset, you can elevate your energy from negative to positive, producing impressive results.
To incorporate this method into your morning routine, reflect on the challenges you might face throughout the day and assert that you are “above” them. With consistent practice, your subconscious will absorb these positive affirmations, guiding you toward your aspirations.
Takeaway: Apply the “Above” technique daily.

Section 1.2: Cultivating Kindness
According to the Oxford Dictionary, being benevolent means being kind, helpful, and generous. My mother has a deep love for plants and spends her mornings nurturing them. She often brings seeds from various places, resulting in the most diverse plant collection in our village.
When I once asked her about her affinity for plants, she replied, “I talk to them and care for them as if they were my own children. If I don’t engage with them, they might feel neglected, just like I do.” Her kindness towards nature is truly inspiring.
After losing my father in 1986, my mother found purpose in caring for her plants. This leads us to ponder, are we living meaningful lives?
In today's fast-paced society, we often chase money as our ultimate goal. But have we asked ourselves if we’re truly being kind? Jackie Chan once said, “Sometimes it takes only one act of kindness to change a person's life.”
Every night, reflect on your day. How many acts of kindness did you extend? Did you acknowledge the janitor or hold the door for someone? If you missed those opportunities, tomorrow offers new chances to be kind.
Takeaway: Each morning, compile a list of individuals to whom you can show kindness.

Section 1.3: The Power of Consistency
Happiness varies from person to person. For me, joy comes from walking beneath trees after rain, savoring the scent of a new book, or quietly observing the ocean. These moments light up my soul.
However, many struggle with maintaining consistent happiness. We read inspirational quotes, watch uplifting videos, and meditate, yet still, questions arise: “Why am I not achieving my goals?” “Why is my relationship strained?”
To combat this, I practice a technique I call “Blessing Drops.” Close your eyes for five minutes and visualize standing under a shower of blessings instead of water. Each drop represents a blessing, washing away negativity. When you open your eyes, you’ll see a brighter world.
To consistently wake up early, plan your day the night before and identify motivating factors that will encourage you to get out of bed.
Takeaway: Commit to a daily activity—be it journaling, writing, meditating, or exercising—and stick to it.
Time taken: 30 mins
The Importance of Sleep
The American Academy of Sleep Medicine suggests that adults should aim for 7–8 hours of sleep each night for optimal health and performance. However, many struggle with this due to work demands and digital distractions.
Quality sleep is influenced not just by duration but also by your sleep environment. Aim to rest in a dark, quiet room to support your circadian rhythm, which regulates your sleep patterns.
Good sleep will facilitate early rising, setting the stage for a successful day.
Final Thoughts
Waking up early offers numerous advantages: increased productivity, enhanced creativity, improved well-being, and extra time for personal pursuits. Yet, we often delay cultivating good habits, such as waking up early, in favor of distractions.
Although rising early may seem daunting amidst daily responsibilities, consistent effort will yield benefits in due time.
I wish you a fantastic day ahead!
