Chapter 1: The Early Years

As a young man eager for more, I grew up in a family that struggled financially. My mother operated several restaurants in southern Germany, but they never provided her with the financial independence she sought; instead, they left her with significant debts and health issues. Consequently, we lived modestly, which instilled in me a strong desire to achieve financial security.

This desire fueled my ambition from a young age. Although I completed my secondary education, I didn’t excel. My academic journey was challenging; every student in Germany must undergo a health check before starting primary school. The doctor informed my mother that I had concentration issues. However, it was simply that I wasn’t suited for a school environment that required long hours of sitting—a struggle many can relate to.

In the eighth grade, I had a wake-up call: to earn a decent living, a strong academic background was essential. Unfortunately, by that point, it was too late to switch schools. I did the best I could, ultimately earning a secondary school diploma. But what came next?

I found myself training at the German Post Service, undergoing a two-year program that taught me all about mail and parcel delivery. Each day, I witnessed my older colleagues, many of whom seemed more lifeless than lively, starting their mornings with drinks before dawn. I knew I didn't want that kind of life; it would be detrimental to my well-being, and as a postman, the financial rewards were limited.

Realizing that this training could lead to a better educational qualification, I seized the opportunity to gain a middle school diploma. This opened the door to further training, and I decided to pursue a career as an office clerk.

A whole new world unfolded before me—one filled with people in suits. My previous experiences with suits were limited to somber family occasions. Suddenly, I was wearing one every day and shaking hands with managers, believing this was the way to conduct business. That was until my manager suggested I stop doing that.

This new environment was a learning experience. I absorbed knowledge quickly and excelled in my studies and work, even if I felt more like a low-paid employee than a valued trainee. I discovered sales, which would later become crucial for my financial aspirations.

However, everything changed during a pivotal meeting.

In that moment, it became clear that to have a meaningful impact on my life, I needed to become self-employed. I wanted to surround myself with individuals who shared a broader vision than mundane topics.
