Its design is minimalistic and it offers voice control, which is a game changer for those who dislike typing on a remote. The remote not only looks good but also feels comfortable to hold. It includes two shortcut buttons for YouTube and Netflix, a mute button, a back button, and standard controls.

On the right side, there’s volume control to adjust your TV's sound if it's compatible. Currently, I'm using the Chromecast with a basic 32-inch Toshiba TV, which I got at a great deal. I'm considering purchasing a second HD Chromecast for the bedroom while relocating the 4K version to the living room. The remote can also control my Toshiba TV effectively, allowing me to adjust the volume and power it on and off. Additionally, I can operate the Chromecast via the Google Home app on my phone, which is handy when the remote goes missing. However, note that using the app does not allow interaction with the TV.

Next, let’s discuss the impressive interface. I've tested multiple smart TV systems like Apple TV and pure Android, but Google TV offers the most intuitive interface I've encountered. The homepage, known as the "For You" page, presents an array of suggestions, including top picks, apps, and ongoing shows.

Your top picks are prominently displayed and integrate with various apps such as YouTube, BBC iPlayer, and Prime Video, making it easy to discover new content. Below that, you can access your apps, and I appreciate that Google TV provides extensive app availability through the Google Play Store. If you're using an Android device, you can even install apps remotely from your phone. Overall, the way Google TV interacts with other apps and offers suggestions based on your viewing habits is impressive.

Section 1.3: Google Assistant Integration

The Chromecast with Google TV's support for Google Assistant is a fantastic feature! With a built-in microphone in the remote, you can activate Assistant by pressing the designated button. This functionality lets you search for movies and TV shows without typing, which I find extremely convenient. If you have a Google Nest in your room, you can even use voice commands to control the Chromecast, such as pausing or playing shows and opening specific apps. This hands-free operation is especially useful when you're preoccupied and can't locate the remote.

Section 1.4: App Accessibility

Over the years, app support has significantly improved across platforms, but the Google Play Store's extensive selection of global apps stands out. As someone fluent in both English and Polish, having access to streaming services in both languages is crucial for me. While the availability of some services may vary, I've successfully accessed Polish streaming platforms like Polsat Box Go. In addition to streaming, the device supports various other apps, including sports, productivity, educational, and communication tools. Interestingly, Google Meet is also available, which is a great feature for business use.

Section 1.5: Performance

Finally, let’s talk about the device's performance. I've found the Chromecast with Google TV to operate exceptionally well. Throughout my usage, I haven't encountered any crashes or lag, which is vital. Unlike other devices I've owned, like the Firestick and Roku, which tend to slow down over time, this Chromecast remains efficient. Its well-designed interface contributes to a smooth and enjoyable navigation experience.
