Embracing Creativity: The Importance of Writing with Passion

Chapter 1: The Pressure to Write Daily
There’s often immense pressure on writers to produce content every single day. However, it's crucial not to force your writing. Writing is a form of art that thrives on passion and inspiration.
Even the most seasoned writers can struggle with inspiration. Personally, I find that my best work emerges when I am genuinely passionate about a subject or, to be honest, when I’m feeling particularly frustrated. This is especially true for topics related to social justice, where the energy and urgency of the issue can significantly enhance the message.
As I work on building my audience on Medium, I often feel the burden of needing to write daily, as so many articles advocate for this practice. However, I've quickly realized that the pieces I create out of obligation lack the depth and quality I aspire to achieve. While they may receive some views, I find them unsatisfying; I dislike when my writing feels rushed or devoid of emotion. It’s painfully clear to me when a piece is crafted out of necessity rather than genuine inspiration.
Do others share this sentiment?
If you do, I have a suggestion: if inspiration eludes you on a particular day, consider taking a break. Your readers will manage without a daily post, and you won’t crumble under the pressure. Instead, use that time to explore topics that resonate with you.
Watch the news, engage with documentaries, or read works by others. Jot down notes on what intrigues you, what doesn’t resonate, or themes you find compelling.
Or, here’s a radical thought—allow yourself a day off!
I know, I know. A break?! In today's fast-paced world?! Unthinkable! But seriously, it's okay to pause. Take a deep breath; everything will be fine.
Use the day to dive into that book you’ve been meaning to read, go for a refreshing hike, or engage in activities that bring you peace and fulfillment.
Writing is, at its core, an art form. Art requires creativity, focus, emotion, and passion. Don’t compromise your craft by writing out of obligation.
Happy Writing!
Here are a few articles that I felt deeply inspired to create:
Transgender Athletes Are Not The Problem.
The argument against trans women in sports is inherently based on misogyny in a patriarchal system.
The Inaccessibility of Mental Health Care is a Crisis.
We’re not listening to individuals seeking help with mental health the way we think we are.
